New User - GUI Missing on synth, only purple background visible

Hi All,

Just seen a video on Youtube for this Synth and thought I would check it out as I have seen other recommendations on the Juno clone.

Anyway, long story short, when I load the application I am missing the main skin (see attached image). I installed on another drive (D:) and not C which was default. Cant think this should make a difference as the option to use another drive was available to me.

I have just downloaded 1.0.17. I have a registered user account working. I checked in the logs in AppData/Roaming .... but nothing is showing as an error or missing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

In the DCO-106 thread another user posted a picture with a similar purple + cherries background (just the background, no controls). The solution reported in that case was to use the standalone version first. So, if you also went straight to the plug-in version, maybe trying the standalone version might dislodge something that isn't working quite right. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1502

Quick update in case anyone else has this, unfortunately still the same.

I will uninstall and reinstall at some point see if it helps.

Hi,

If that doesn't fix it, try deleting your plugindatafile, and installing again.

For Windows, it's here:
%appdata%/CherryAudio/Surrealistic MG-1 Plus/Plugin

For Mac it will be here:
~/Library/Application Support/CherryAudio/Surrealistic MG-1 Plus/Plugin

I am experiencing the same problem - opening the Surrealistic synth (in Reaper).



Greg advised;

If that doesn't fix it, try deleting your plugindatafile, and installing again.

Hi,

When you log into the synth, it may need to download files from the server. If something prevents it from doing that for whatever reason, you can end up on that screen.

Try logging into the standalone version first. That helps in many cases.

If that doesn't help, we'll want to see your log files, which are located here for Macs:

~/Library/Application Support/CherryAudio/Surrealistic MG-1 Plus/Logs

Archive them or zip them up and attach them to a support request: submit a Cherry Audio support request.

Don't know how to do this - so re-downloaded the synth (standalone version).
No change in the situation so sent a support request with the latest logs.
