hi,

I have make a patch as folowing, everything seems OK, it works, but the carrier knob doesn't show any reaction, even if I turn it as much as I want, the level is high without reaction after turning the knob. What's wrong? the result is not as I wish, the words spoken are almost unintelligible

thanks tom

You have no audio feeding the Carrier input on the Vocoder. Patch the output of your mixer, or your oscillator, into the Carrier input.

By the way, you can click this button to change the Browser to show a list instead of icons. Maybe helpful?

hi, thanks, I showed this just to show that even without the oscillator connected the carrier shows a high level - why? after connect oscillator carrier indicates the same

Mine does that too, not sure why. A bug? It happens after I've connected an oscillator to it and then remove the connection.

exactly, it mus be a bug. which waveform of oscilator is the best for vocoder? square, triangle, sawtooth? I'v got the feeling, that a ratio between sufficiently strong microphone signal/oscillator signal is most important. if mic is too weak, the result is weak too

A bright waveform with lots of harmonics is best. You're using a square, which is good. A sawtooth might be better. And I see you have a curve in your Vocoder, maybe flatten that to start.

The level of your Modulator looks low.

ok, thanks for your advices, I will try this, maybe with an other oscillator

Thanks for this Vocoder Discussion. I haven't played with the Vocoder, but I am interested in following your progress in case I want to try.

Talking about the Library, I wonder why people use it on the left side. @huggermugger Thanks for the tip about the Library's list option.
